This is Clee Country
Discover how Clee Country came to life.
KERRY'S STORY
Hi, my name is Kerry, and my love of music started with my late mum. Growing up I was surrounded by the sounds of incredible artists like Elvis Presley, Dolly Parton, Johnny Cash, Neil Diamond, Kenny Rogers, Glen Campbell and Willie Nelson. Those early memories shaped my connection to music and gave me a lifelong appreciation for great songs and storytelling.
My true passion for country music came later, at a garden party hosted by my festival partner Phil. It was there that I was introduced to the incredible Kezia Gill. From that moment on, I was completely hooked. What followed were countless gigs, festivals, and unforgettable experiences that deepened my love for the genre.
Eventually I convinced Phil to revisit a journey he had taken back in 2019 — a 2025 road trip through Nashville, Memphis, and Las Vegas. That trip became a turning point for us both. Surrounded by the heart and soul of country music, we were inspired to bring that same energy and spirit back home to Cleethorpes.
PHIL'S STORY
Hi, I’m Phil. For over 15 years I’ve been involved in live entertainment through Road Runner Discotheques, so music and events are part of my world. My love of country started back in the early 80s when I first heard artists like Don Williams, Willie Nelson and the theme tune from The Dukes of Hazzard.
I was also very lucky enough to meet some of the original Waylon Jennings band members at an intimate evening in Leiper's Fork, and that experience is one of the moments that kept me connected to the heart of country music.
Over the last 30 years I’ve been in the right place at the wrong time and the wrong place at the right time, and I’ve built friendships with some of Britain’s best country artists. With a love of bourbon and country songs, it felt natural to bring that passion back home.
Together Kerry and Phil want to put Cleethorpes on the map as one of the go-to festivals of the summer country music calendar. Even though we have not got 2027 under our belts yet, we are already planning 2028.
We want to welcome you to Cleethorpes, our home, with open arms and enjoy the delights of North East Lincolnshire from ice creams to fish & chips!
